Thanks to their Treatment Benefit Scheme, the Department of Social Protection provides hearing services to insured workers, the self-employed and retired people who have the required number of PRSI contributions.
From 27 March 2021, there were some changes made so they will now pay the full cost of hearing aids up to a maximum of €1,000 (€500 per aid) once every fourth calendar year.
