A lot of what we know about carrots isn’t true - they won’t help you see in the dark and they aren’t the natural food of rabbits. But one thing we do know is that they could help you hear better. Carrot juice is particularly high in beta-carotene, which your body uses to make vitamin A or retinol. High amounts of vitamin A are found in your cochlea, the organ of listening that contains touchy hair follicles. As per “Human Biochemistry and Disease,” low levels of vitamin A inside of your cochlea may add to listening to hearing loss and tinnitus.

Albeit not experimentally demonstrated, recounted proof proposes that vitamin A supplements diminish the side effects of tinnitus. Poor blood flow to the ears contributes to hearing loss, and vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that removes harmful free-radicals from blood vessels, and is needed for collagen production and tissue repair. Carrot juice is a sound source of vitamin C, and in addition B-6. Vitamin B-6 is required for productive nerve transmission, which is useful when loud noise hurt a portion of the nerve fibres in your ear.

Carrot juice likewise, contains some potassium, manganese, calcium, phosphorus, iron and sulphur, as per the “American Dietetic Association Complete Food and Nutrition Guide.” Minerals are required for the strength of the small bones inside of your ear and are vital to electrolyte parity, which is critical for the liquid inside of your cochlea. Of course carrots are only one part of a healthy diet and, as shown opposite, there are plenty of other foods available that are good for you and your hearing.
